Apart from the title of the post, I remember a horrible film that recently passed in the halls, it was truly the day I took the asus eee pc 900, after so much hard work and negotiations to get the discount stores co. co.co.
What to say? The asus eee pc 900 with 20 GB of hard disk and 'truly a jewel. I feel sorry for those who have taken from 12 GB, 'cause is very little space for everything. Of course the 20 GB version has a version of Linux pre-installed that left me puzzled immediately. 
My thoughts and 'was: if this was an opportunity to familiarize users with little experience in the world of Linux, well,' was lost almost in full. Xandros (the distribution question) is fully integrated with all the hardware, but it shows a very limited linux, whose graphical presentation is closer 'to that of a PDA / phone. 'nuff said ... I just cleared everything and put on eeeubuntu, without batting an eyelid. In less than 35 minutes (excluding download time iso from the internet) I had already 'my beautiful settle.
So what I can tell you how to start this experience with the eeepc?
eee pc 900 + Xandros = desire to pave the machine
eee pc 900 + eeeubuntu = grandissima soddisfazione
Ovviamente non e' stato tutto cosi' automatico... e spero di essere d'aiuto anche ad altri che come me hanno acquistato questo piccolo gioiello della tecnologia (insomma 'na robba che se la guardi bene e' da geek, pero' te la porti dov vuoi e ci fai quel che vuoi).
